Svetlana Denissova received her first MSc degree in Biophysics from the Saint Petersburg State University (Russia), studying interactions of ligand complexes with DNA in collaboration with pharmaceutical companies. The second MSc in Medical Physics she obtained from McGill University (Canada). After completing her MSc, she worked at the QEII Health Sciences Centre (Halifax, Canada) as junior physicist, Saint John Regional Hospital (Saint John, Canada) as medical physicist and Beth Israel Medical Center (New York, NY) where she was promoted to a Lead Physicist position.
She joined the faculty of the University of Miami’s Radiation Oncology department in October 2010. She provides all aspects of medical physics support to the operation of radiation therapy Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in Deerfield Beach, participates in the oncology and medical physics resident teaching program. Her research interests are in respiratory motion management and portal dosimetry.
