Biography
Ivaylo Mihaylov, Ph.D. received his doctorate in Theoretical Astrophysics from the University of Toledo in Toledo, OH in 2006. After completing his Post-Doctoral fellowship in the Radiation Oncology Department at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2006, he joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR. In 2009 he joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at Warrant Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. While with Warrant Alpert Medical School of Brown University Dr. Mihaylov obtained a grant (R01 CA 163370) from National Institutes of Health in 2012. Dr. Mihaylov has also received several research awards from industry partners. In 2013 Dr. Mihaylov joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at University of Miami at a rank of an Associate Professor. He has authored and co-authored more than 15 peer reviewed publications and over 45 abstracts in conference proceedings. Dr. Mihaylov is an active member of American Association of Physicists in Medicine, where he served as a member of AAPM TG-176, and is currently serving as a member of the Research Committee and the Working Group on the Development of a Research Database.
